At Expressions Dental™, our dentists diagnose your dental health and suggest treatment options. A tooth crown is recommended for the following reasons:
Crowns can be made from metal, porcelain, porcelain fused to metal and zirconium. Tooth colored crowns are typically used when esthetics are concern. The whole process of inserting the crown is achieved in two stages. During the first visit, our dentists remove a portion of tooth structure to accommodate the crown properly. After that we take impressions and send them to a dental laboratory to create your custom fit crown. Until the time the new crown is ready, we place a temporary crown in your mouth. Approximately one week after the tooth preparation appointment the crown is cemented on your tooth.
